Do Not Let the computer limit your design ability

Nowadays since everything is done fast and digitally we forget that we can use our hands. When you make something using your hands it adds a touch that a computer could not do. Just think of how fascinated and more appreciated things are that have been handmade.

I recently started learning calligraphy as a way to use my hands creatively other then sketching. Take some time this week to step away from your computer and spend time designing with something other then your phone and laptop. The thought of designing or even crafting with your hands will make you feel happy and you’ll be more engaged.

Child of the 90s | Internet Explorer

When I first watched this commercial I was blown away. If you grew up in the 90’s you can relate easily to what they talked about in this commercial. The story they told made it even more relate-able. Because I for one grew up using Internet explorer and before that it was netscape navigator. But I’ll stick with using firefox

American Airlines Rebranding

Well You all may have or may not seen American Airlines New Identity. If you have not give the video a watch above before continuing on reading. When I first came across the article on creativereview.co.uk I had no idea what of what to say. One thing I said was why did they ruin such a great identity.

More so why would they not have massimo involved with the rebranding. I’m pretty sure this would be his reaction or would it be?

What are your thoughts about the new american airlines rebranding?

Why you will never achieve what you’ve always wanted.

When I was 18 years old I had no idea what I wanted to do with my life. There were times when I felt as if I was just existing for no real purpose.  I know I’m not the person who has dealt with those type of feelings. We all have a choice to remain as we are or to become more then we are.

Many people say they want to achieve certain things in their life, but the real thing that will shape their life is if they take action. A great quote that I heard from Jim Rohn recently is “Don’t let your learning lead to knowledge you’ll become a fool. Let your Learning lead to action and you can become wealthy” .

For example being a designer and producing work that you know does not fit your standards can push you or stop you to become what you all that you can. I do the best that I can to stay positive and push through the work till you get better. The main question you have to ask yourself is do I want to become more and do I want to have more. Nowadays there is no reason for anyone to have  little knowledge about their chosen field. We have the internet that has loads of free information that can teach you anything.

Font Design

I’ve suddenly seemed to take more interest in type designers. The thought that goes behind the designing of a typeface is much more then most would think. Also I didn’t know that Hoefler and Jones designed the typeface for many major magazines.
