Paul Rand was paid $ 100,000 dollars to design the next logo. Also Paul only came with one design when he presented it to Steve. I learned that while listing to the Steve Jobs biography audiobook.

I’ll be honest I’m still learning more about Eero Saarinen his furniture is so immaculate and beautiful. The way I found about Eero was from watching the Eames Documentary The architect and the painter. I also noticed his furniture in Mad Men as well as Eames Furniture.
Michael Bierut is always a great designer to hear speak. I really like the advice he gives and the work he’s done as well at pentagram.
Elizabeth Gilbert is a very interesting woman. The way she talks about creativity is something that really opened my mind to think of creativity in a different way. I never really thought of creative people falling and diminishing at their own hands. Whenever I’m outside or not doing anything related to designing creativity inspiration comes out of nowhere.
What are your thoughts about this speech?
I first learned about Paula Scher when I was in art school. One of my professors had mentioned her. After watching this Ted talk It really opened my eyes up about designing in a different way. Because before I thought of designing as being solemn and not serious. Also the aspect of playing while designing because that is honestly what designing can be depending on how you look at it.
Having Watched this conversation with Massimo and George together I really enjoyed both. It was kind of funny they both are wearing all black. Both George and Massimo have produced excellent work and continue to do so.
One of the many things that I am still amazed when talking or reading about Charles and Ray Eames is how neither one was a designer. Charles was an architect and Ray was a painter. This interview has to be one of the best things I have found about design. Only if I heard a speech like this in Art School.
Telling people how to be creative is easy. Its only being it thats difficult – John Cleese
Would you like to see some written articles or just videos that I find?
When I first came across this video it was a history lesson. Learning how much Dieter Rams has influenced the product design of apple was great. One of the many things that I respected that Dieter said when the interviewer said “they have stolen your design” then Dieter Said “no its a compliment”.
The 606 is a shelf that I would not mind to have being an avid reader. I do love the aspect of designing furniture that will last your whole life.
What are you thoughts after watching both parts?
