Having to redesign a shopping cart in 1 week the end result is amazing. I still would love to work at IDEO the whole process from beginning to end is remarkable. When I’m able to open up my own design studio I’ll definitely refer to this video to make the whole design process great from beginning to end.
When I first watched this Ted Talk I had no idea what to expect. Chip Kidd is a well known book designer. This talk also helped me to understand book designers and Chip Kidd a bit more.
I’ve been doing what Milton has suggested in regarding designing. Everyday I have at least been doing something related to design. But really remembering to not just be designing for the sake of designing.
I remember the first time I cam across this video. Immediately I was blown away by hearing what she expected to see out of a portfolio. This video is definitely a great reference tool for designers in any profession.
I love this interview Debbie Millman did with Massimo. If you didn’t know Debbie does a podcast called Design matters on Design Observer She does interviews interviews with many well known designers and all kinds of creatives. She even interviewed the guy who’s agency or he who designed the 2012 Olympic logo.
This interview with paul rand is definitely a classic interview as you can probably tell by the quality of the video and what the interviewer is wearing. I would’ve been asking tons of questions related to design and whatever else I could think of. But anyhow this interview is a great insight on how Paul Rand goes about designing and etc.
I’m not really liking the direction these ads are heading in at all. They also feel like something that Steve Jobs would not have approved of. But Tim Cook does seem to be doing a great job at apple. Now back to the ads.
The storyline of these ads seems to miss the point in some ways. For example the mayday advertisement the guy talks about creating a video in iMovie when clearly the exporting time will depend on how long the video and its size and he closed the laptop when he was through? (I’m not sure how he would’ve finished exporting his video he made).
Mainly I feel the advertisements could be simplified more overall. I wonder if TBWA Chiat day still does advertisements for Apple.
If you look at the ratings on youtube you can see i’m not the only one who feels this way about these apple ads.
After watching this documentary many times it was a little history lesson in advertising. This documentary also taught me about advertising and how its done. The rotating of billboards I never thought of it as being such a complex and quickly moving business.
“The frightening and most difficult thing about being a creative person is that you have no idea where your thoughts come from really and especially no idea where they will come from tomorrow”
I came across this documentary because of my interest in the Bauhaus. This documentary showed me how innovative people can be with little amounts of materials available. When the war happened in Germany and the students had to use what they had available showed me that you do not need ton’s of materials to make something great. The furniture from the Bauhaus gives me chills when I see how beautifully designed it is and then I lust to have it. I was blown away to learn how much of the architecture in Chicago is influenced by The Bauhaus (even though I know that is not the only city).
Only if there was a school like this to attend nowadays.
