“Tell the truth but make the truth fascinating”
I would really love to work at an ogilvy agency. I can only imagine how much I would learn about how the business works and requires to be successful.

“Tell the truth but make the truth fascinating”
I would really love to work at an ogilvy agency. I can only imagine how much I would learn about how the business works and requires to be successful.
A beautiful part from Art 21 documentary. Margaret Kilgallen really got me more interested in perfecting
my line work which has been a journey. Also the part where Barry and Margaret go into the train yard that
made me appreciate and understand the history of trains a bit more.
Just watching this little gem made me appreciate letterpress even more. The beauty of the machine in motion and the finished product has always amazed me. Hopefully I’ll be able to get a set of letterpressed business cards (crosses fingers).
A very inspiring interview with Sean from Seanwes.com . He produces hand lettering that shows the time that he has put in to produce the quality of work that will have you drooling over how clean and beautifully they are done.
I first heard John Coltranes album Blue train and I was blown away by the level of skill he possessed while playing. One major thing that blew me away by the album is that its just him playing the Saxophone and you do not get tired of hearing him play.
But back to the documentary above about Mr Coltrane. I never really knew that he was such an avid studier of different types of music. It makes perfect sense for whomever to do such a thing for their chosen field. I for one realized I need to start exploring different types of design from other countries instead of just focusing on whats happening here in the U.S.

I first learned about this documentary when I found a trailer on reddit or some website. The other day I thought of it so I did some searching and I was able to find it on hulu. Me personally I never really understood the use for craigslist.
Here’s a little short review on the documentary.
The way that it was filmed fit well into the way the documentary was meant to be. Joe starts out in LA then he manages to make it all the way to new york stopping in various cities using craigslist. Then after New York he makes it to florida then new orleans then to San Francisco and finally back home.
Joe Spends 31 days living entirely off of craigslist. The people that he meets will show how great people actually are out there despite what the news portrays. After watching Craigslist Joe I now am paying more attention to craigslist.

I’m still amazed by the Eames house every time I see videos, pictures of it. From the driveway up to the house it is a visual treat. It is almost as if it makes you want to keep going and to look inside. When it shows Eames Demetrios entering It shows I believe the kitchen at 2:00 in and I love the simple layout of not having a huge table there. One major thing I noticed after watching this is that it seems as if everything has a particular purpose and is carefully placed throughout the house.
I wonder how it looks now compared to this video being shot via 1997.
Could You imagine if we still had to rely on Linotype machines for printing? I feel that something so simple as the newspaper would be more appreciated. But we have the internet available for us wherever we go. A good educational video on the linotype machine.
Last night I watched this documentary called crumb. The documentary was about the cartoonist named Robert Crumb. The way I came across it was by just searching for documentaries for designers to watch.
What I learned from this was how he was always sketching. His wife said that wherever they would go he would always be sketching. After hearing that It really opened me up to carrying my sketchbook around when the time is right for it. Also it shows his childhood and you get to see his family and why he no longer lives in the USA. Here’s a link to the documentary let me know what your thoughts are in the comments below.
After I sat and watched this documentary my respect for Michael Jackson grew even more. The way that he was so devoted to his various crafts is something we all should do with our careers. Spike Lee did an amazing job with this documentary. I honestly would not have expected anything less from him.
